The hearts, leaves and berries are applique shapes.

FQ = Fat Quarter is a fabric piece 18” x 21” (45 by 55cm) in size.

Material Requirements:

12 x FQ of Lawn fabrics or quilt fabrics (we used Liberty London or Lecien Japan Lawn fabrics)

(It’s a minimum requirement!)

OR use 24 x Fat ⅛’s if available.

OR use 4 x 5” charm packs

1 x FQ (or Fat ⅛) for the centre square appliqué background

Extra small fabric pieces of red/pink, green and blue for feature appliqué. These are optional extras, as there should be small fabrics pieces left over from the FQs.

20” (50cm) binding fabric

Batting to fit size, Piecing thread, Quilting Thread for hand or machine

Glue pen

Backing fabric:

2¾ds (2.5m) with horizontal joining seam or 4yds (3.5m)

if a vertical seam is required on directional fabric.

Plus the usual handy tools: quilt mat, ruler & rotary cutter.
